$130 per private hot tub (2 people)
+$50 extra per adult (up to 2 extra per tub)
+$30 extra per child (up to 2 extra per tub)
Each hot tub accommodates up to four people. For the most comfortable experience, we recommend two adults, or two adults with two young children.

Session days may vary throughout the year, so please check availability when booking.

Escape the everyday and unwind in your own private hot tub, just moments from the beach. Listen to the gentle sound of the waves, breathe the fresh coastal air and take time to simply slow down.

Unlike most spas that continually filter and treat the same water, every Moa Gardens hot tub is filled with fresh water just for your booking, then drained, cleaned and prepared again before the next guests arrive.

Whether you've spent the day exploring the gardens, are travelling through the Waitaki region, or simply want to relax beside the sea, your hot tub is a peaceful place to pause.

FAQ

Are the hot tubs open all year?

Our hot tubs operate from September to June. Moa Gardens closes over winter before reopening in spring.

How do I confirm and pay for my booking?

Once we receive your enquiry, we'll confirm availability by email and reserve your session. Payment is made when you arrive at Moa Gardens. We accept EFTPOS with chip, most major credit and debit cards, and cash. We ask that you let us know as soon as possible if your plans change so we can offer your booking to another guest.

What should I bring?

Please bring swimwear or togs. We recommend bringing warm clothing for after your session, particularly during spring and autumn. It can be a cold dash back to the changing rooms sometimes! Towels are provided.

Can non-accommodation guests book hot tubs?

Yes. Our hot tubs can be booked by day visitors as well as lodge and campervan guests. Advance booking is recommended because we offer a limited number of sessions each day.

How long is a hot tub session?

Each private hot tub session lasts 90 minutes. Morning sessions run from 11:00am–12:30pm, and afternoon sessions run from 2:00pm–3:30pm. Occassional additional evening sessions are advertised on our Moa Gardens Facebook page.

Do I need to book?

Yes, hot tub sessions must be booked in advance. This allows us to prepare and heat your private tub before you arrive. We recommend booking early, especially for groups requiring more than one tub.

Are towels provided?

Yes, one towel per guest is included with your booking. You are welcome to bring an additional towel or robe for extra warmth afterwards.


Can children use the tubs?

Yes, children may use the hot tubs under the active supervision of a responsible adult. An adult must remain with children throughout the session, and young children should take regular breaks from the hot water.

Can I bring alcohol to my hot tub session?

To help keep Moa Gardens a relaxing, family-friendly destination, guests aren't able to bring alcohol onto the property. Complimentary chilled drinking water is provided, so all you need to do is settle in and enjoy your private soak.

How many people fit in one hot tub?

Our hot tubs are ideal for two adults and can accommodate up to four adults. For groups of five or more, we recommend booking additional tubs to ensure everyone has space to relax.

Can I book a hot tub while visiting the gardens?

Absolutely! If you're visiting Moa Gardens and decide you'd like to enjoy a hot tub session, pop into reception and ask. If we have availability, or can prepare a tub for you, we'll do our best to fit you in.

Can we book more than one tub?

Yes. Larger groups are welcome to reserve multiple tubs during the same session, subject to availability. Each booking is for the guests included in that reservation, and we don't allow spectators or guests swapping in and out during the session. This helps us provide a fair and relaxing experience for all guests.

Can we book all six hot tubs for a group or special occasion?

Absolutely! Subject to availability, groups are welcome to reserve all the hot tubs for birthdays, family gatherings, celebrations or other special occasions. Please get in touch to discuss your plans, and we'll do our best to accommodate your group.

What happens if it rains?

Hot tub sessions can usually continue in wet weather. In fact, many guests enjoy soaking in the rain! If severe weather makes it unsafe to use the tubs, we'll contact you to arrange an alternative session or discuss your options. If your plans change, please let us know at least 3 hours before your scheduled session so we can offer the booking to another guest.
